The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been identified as a key strategic direction to enhance teaching effectiveness, optimize students’ learning experiences, and promote professional development for teachers and staff at Lawrence S. Ting School (LSTS). The implementation of AI has been carried out systematically, beginning with school-wide comprehensive professional training activities, through subject faculties then experimenting on real programs and completing the policy systems.
Since the 2023 – 2024 academic year, all teachers at the School have completed six training modules covering an overview of AI, approaching to integrating AI technologies in schools, and giving the practical guidance for teachers and staff to use AI in teaching and professional tasks. These training sessions took place during the orientation weeks at the start of the academic years (July 2023 and July 2024) as well as during monthly professional development sessions throughout 2024, with full and active participation from subject teachers and administrative staff. By the 2024 -2025 academic year, the school has expanded its advanced AI training modules and offered supplementary courses for new teachers, thereby ensuring that 100% of the teachers are proficient in the practical application of AI to their classes.
In parallel with training, the school has researched and is going to finalize its AI usage policy, which is being developed based on the analysis of international models and adapted to fit Vietnam’s conditions and the school’s realistic context. This policy framework ensures safety, effectiveness, and consistency in deploying AI applications in classrooms.
Currently, the school is experimenting with several specific applications such as an AI-integrated Learning Management System (LMS) for monitoring and analyzing student data, for evaluating student’s results automatically through software, and for personalizing lesson content. In the future, the school will continue to advance its AI training programs, keep up with the latest technologies, and expand practical applications to maintain its leading role in educational innovation and to prepare the best for students on the way of global integration.
